The MEMORY OBJECTS are fine-art sculptures designed for use as dignified receptacles of deceased loved ones‘ ashes.
Nature is Eva Moosbrugger’s mentor. The items of the MEMORY OBJECT SERIES are unadorned and clear in form, surface and color.
Form, surface and color are set in a metaphorical way. They can be combined to create a character description based on the basic characteristics of the owner respectively the departed person – like a self-portrait or portrait. The object then becomes image of an identity, refuge of private memories, iconografic insignia, aide-mémoire for meditation and prayer.
Harmonious structures of waves, seeds, honeycombs and tree bark act as symbols for the diverse attitudes towards life.
The colors of the series range from the traditional to the sensual, as how we perceive colors and what we associate with is highly individual.
The names of the objects replicate their essential meaning:
Galaxy – Cocoon – Meteor – Ocean – Winter Forest.
The glass bundles life like light and reflects it in timeless beauty.
MEMORY OBJECTS enclose and embody our past, accompanying and comforting those of us still living. They guard our memories as part of our history.
Made in collaboration with the best masters of traditional glassblowing and engraving techniques of Murano, each piece attains aesthetic perfection.
As a work in progress the series will ongoing be complemented. Each model is an individual item, limited to 6 variations + 1ap (per form and color).
Award highlights for the MEMORY OBJECT SERIES include Focus Open 2015, Int. Design Award Baden-Württemberg, and The German Design Award 2017.
